Vision and Mission Statement The Vine Methodist Church - Altrincham, Bowdon Vale, The Vine (Hale), Timperley
Our vision is to be an inclusive, justice seeking, welcoming communities who cares for all in an environment where all feel they belong.
We aim to share the love of Jesus Christ by responding to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the people in our communities.
Our mission is to respond to our calling as Christians to live the gospel by word and deed and to introduce people to Jesus Christ,
helping them grow to be more like him, and then to reproduce the process in others.
WORSHIP - The Church exists to increase awareness of God's presence and to celebrate God's love
To rebuild Timperley Methodist Church creating an accessible ECO building sustainable for the church. Lead – Circuit Team
To provide varied worship opportunities to meet the needs of the church and local community (nursing home services – Rev Jackie and WLs, LPS (Lay authorisations).
To establish as Sunday Club at Timperley due to the increase in children attendance. Lead Jackie Davies and Timperley Leadership Team.
To develop messy church providing an effective link for youngsters from toddler groups. Lead Jackie Davies (contact made with Sale about developing Messy Church)
To introduce a Taize service at Bowdon Vale – allowing for quiet reflection. Lead Rita Borgen
Establish and embed monthly lego church on Sunday afternoon starting Easter 2024 – Lead Rachel F and Jackie D (commences 21 April)
Introduce New Song Café – first Sunday night at Altrincham – Lead Rev Jackie and Altrincham Leadership 9started March)
Introduce Sung Communion by June 2025 – Lead Rev Jackie
To produce weekly worship videos for YouTube and worship at home packs – Lead Rev Jackie, Kevin J and Rachel F (Videos commenced February 2024)
To continue and develop a monthly discipleship group study group – Lead Rev Jackie (looking deeper commences January 2025 @ The Vine)
To increase the number of house groups across the 4 sites by 3 by August 2025. Lead, Liz, Lesley
To create school resources, matching curriculum requirements, and inviting schools to church buildings – also using videos. Lead Jackie D and Rachel F.
To host learning and discipleship events at Altrincham site – District and connexional events – Lead AMC Leadership
To develop home communions for nursing and private homes – ensuring housebound members are cared for. Lead Kevin, Dot and Rev Jackie
To further develop internal communications throughout the church – using online and written media
To consider developing an activity around the Monday Lunch at The Vine – Lead Rachel F
SERVICE - The Church exists to be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice
To look for ways in supporting Refugees and Asylum Seekers. Lead Kevin Jaquiss (Project commenced December 2023 at the Vine which continues)
To develop links with Cresta Court and offer ESOL lessons (January 2025 – Lead Rachel Muter)
To establish deepening relationships with MHA Handsworth – developing excellent links with Bowdon Vale and Handsworth. Encouraging Chaplain and residents. – Lead Andrew R, Local Preachers and ministers
To establish a “response team” for community organisations for emergency situations in all church buildings. Lead Rev Jackie and AMC Team
For house groups to study the “Walking with Micah” report embedding its principles into church life. Lead All house group leaders 2 house groups commenced Walking with Micah report in Feb 24)
To join with the Good Friday walk of witness. Lead All
EVANGELISM - The Church exists to make more followers of Jesus Christ
To develop internal and external comms, church websites, Business 365 and facebook pages – Lead Comms Team
A who is who leadership photo board for each church. Lead each leadership team
To hold sessions on sharing your faith in a changing world – Autumn 2025. Lead Rev Jackie
Develop Christmas festival of light for 2024 in partnership with local community at Timperley: Lead Timperley Leadership team
To enable a community event for the marathon in April at Timperley. Lead Timperley Leadership Team
To seek funding and support for our New Place for New People – Makers Nook – Lead Rachel (initial funding received and pilot sessions to start)
To angel “bomb” the community with 2000 angels at Christmas. Lead All churches (Angels flying in currently)
Governance and Buildings
To merge 4 church bank accounts into one – Lead Treasurers and Finance Team
To have training on the music system at the Vine – Lead Kevin and Jackie
To implement effective leadership teams on all sites – Lead Rev Jackie and Church stewards (“ churches completed)
To produce effective delegate of financial authorities for each site – Lead Finance Team

Lego church started April 2024
Monthly discipleship commenced Jan (Monday night) focused on methodism – 26 attendees – 6 new members
Advent Study in 2 venues – Wednesday night and Friday morning –
Review of All In (Monthly service in March 2024 – reviewed objectives with a desire for the planning team to lead on issues of EDI
